Kem Sape 2023 Bakal Iktiraf Duta Besar Sape YPS

Yayasan Perpaduan Sarawak (YPS) akan mengadakan ‘Sape Camp’ atau Kem Sape 2023 selama empat hari bermula 19 Jun hingga 22 Jun 2023 di empat lokasi berbeza di Kuching.

Kem Sape 2023 ini akan membabitkan empat orang penggiat muzik profesional tempatan  iaitu Mathew Ngau (Lagenda Sape), Jerry Kamit (Mastrro Sape Sarawak), Narawi Rashidi (Komposer) dan Dr Connie Lim (Penyelidik dan Ahli Akademik Tempatan dari Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS)).

Individu-individu penting ini akan berkongsi pengetahuan dan pengalaman mendalam mereka tentang Sape sebagai alat muzik, asal usul Sape dan perjalanan muzik Sape ke seluruh dunia.

Menurut Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif YPS, YBhg. Datu Aloysius J Dris, Kem Sape 2023 ini akan melibatkan 15 orang peserta iaitu; empat (4) orang dari Semenanjung Malaysia; dua (2) orang dari Sabah dan Sembilan (9) orang dari Sarawak.

Salah satu objektif penganjuran Kem Sape 2023 ini adalah sebagai satu usaha untuk menarik minat serta memberi pendedahan yang lebih mendalam kepada para peminat muzik khususnya golongan muda.

Beliau berkata demikian dalam sidang media yang diadakan di Dry Lab, Muzium Budaya Borneo, Kuching pada 8 Jun 2023 (Khamis).

Sehubungan itu, beliau memberitahu, sebaik sahaja peserta Kem Sape 2023 ‘bergraduasi’ atau berjaya menamatkan pengajian selama empat hari itu, mereka akan diiktiraf sebagai ‘Duta Besar Sape YPS’ di mana mereka akan menjadikan Sape sebagai pilihan muzik mereka.

Beliau turut memaklumkan, pada hari pertama dan kedua, Kem Sape 2023 akan diadakan di Hotel Limetree; Seterusnya pada hari yang ketiga, program akan berlangsung di rumah inap Lan E Tayang.

Upacara penutupan akan diserikan oleh Ketua Lembaga Pemegang Amanah YPS, Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud pada 22 Jun 2023 (hari keempat) di Muzium Budaya Borneo, Kuching. Sebagai penutup tirai Kem Sape 2023, Duta Besar Sape YPS akan mengadakan konsert mini yang disebut  sebagai “Evening Unity Concert” selama satu jam bermula pada pukul 7:30 malam di GoDown Amphithitheatre Tebingan Kuching.
